They are made of high quality Stainless Steel and have a screw type connection.  They are solid, tough & stay connect really well...but still simple enough to unscrew if ya need to add another key.  I LOVE these & keep a few spares in a drawer, because enevitably a naked key will show up that needs to be kept up with.
